The photos in this gallery are taken from whale watching trips in the San Juan Islands during the past four years. We are blessed with three orca pods, J,K & L, that live in our waters much of the year. The pods get together for mating but rear their young in their own pod. Orcas stay with their pod for life. Occasionally gray whales stray from their migration and stop and stay in our area for a few days or even a summer.
