We found these baby egrets in a rookery in the middle of Gatorland in Orlando, Florida. It is an amazing place to photograph many Florida birds up close. The Egrets choose to nest there because the Alligators swim in a large pond underneath the nests and keep the racoons away. Of course, the price the egrets pay for their choice is an occasional baby who falls into the pond.
